Sustainability Policy
(Health, Environment, Safety and Quality)
Development of the Management System, i.e. the development of our Organizational
Structure and Responsibilities, Processes, Procedures and Resources will be
based on four main Objectives:

- To provide clear Vision and Direction to the Organization.
- To ensure adequate capacity and resources for sustained development.
- To ensure commitment and active support for change and improvement.
- To provide necessary competence, methods and tools for improvement work.

Qatar Steel Management, at all levels of the organization, shall continuously
strive to provide external and internal customers with consistent, reliable
and quality products and services. Management shall at all time set a good
example and be role models for commitment, customer focus and team work.
Qatar Steel’s Processes shall be well defined and evaluated in order
to identify the requirements for Health, Environment, Safety and Quality.
Resources and technology will be provided to meet these requirements and
committed to sustainable production with an improved level of performance
in each process.
Qatar Steel is committed to prevent pollution and making all efforts
to comply with, as minimum required standard, the State Environmental Standards
and Regulations, the State’s Labor Law, and any other Legislation
that will be applicable to our company. |
Qatar Steel sees prevention as its main method for risk control and will encourage
involvement of all employees. Self assessment shall be the main method
for monitoring. The main purpose of formal auditing and reviews shall be
to verify compliance with selected standards and confirmation of our systems’ suitability.
Qatar Steel recognizes the nature of its business and the impact on Occupational
Health and Safety (OH&S) conditions for majority parts of its employees.
Therefore Qatar Steel will work systematically to improve the work environment.
Every employee of Qatar Steel shall recognize that Health, Safety, Environment
and community responsibilities are an integral part of his business.
Qatar Steel will ensure that the Management systems of our Subcontractors
and Vendors are compatible with our own commitment to Health, Safety and
Environment.
Qatar Steel will provide training and encourage behaviour that upholds
this Policy.
Qatar Steel shall strive for Continual Improvement of Management processes
and associated activities.
Qatar Steel has adopted Balance Scorecard to measure and review Management
Systems.
